Beacon Craft Studio. New Haven, CT.
I’m Meredith, a queer Asian American leather worker with a passion for handcrafting beautiful and durable leather goods ranging from wallets to custom harnesses. I draw inspiration from tarot, queer & AAPI culture, D&D, and my two cats. Sustainability is important to me, and I offer repairs and restoration of pre-loved leather goods so that their owners can continue to treasure them rather than send old items to the landfill.
Janet Warner. New Haven, CT.
My art practice has been focused on a nonobjective exploration of color and color relationships. I allow the process of mixing pigments to dictate the color boundaries and color relationships within the paintings. Isolating my focus on color has broadened my understanding of color space and color relationships. I am interested in how pigments act differently based on age, manufacturer, and the mediums I use.
Kate Stephen. New Haven, CT.
I have been designing jewelry for over 20 years. Metal and crystals are my favorite mediums to work in. Everyday I wake up, go to the studio and handcraft a new unique piece....the creative process itself inspires all of my designs.
Mark Donovan. New Haven, CT.
Rooted in craftsmanship, my woodworking practice blends functional design with form to create everyday items. I work primarily with reclaimed and natural wood, especially wood from local trees in New Haven and greater Connecticut. lThe result is work that feels both grounded and expressive—objects meant to be used, noticed, and shared.
Pottery by Niko. New Haven, CT.
As a young child, I loved to play with clay and anything that I could form with my hands, but it wasn't until I moved to New Haven in 2015 that I took my first pottery class. After being introduced to wheel throwing at Creative Arts Workshop, I was happy to turn away from my former career in philosophy and get my hands muddy.
Sandra Malan Designs. New Haven, CT.
Sandra creates colorful surface pattern designs inspired by nature.
Shaunda Holloway. New Haven, CT.
Shaunda Sekai Holloway is an artist, curator, teacher, and writer working in New Haven and Hamden. Recently, she curated the “Remember My Struggle: Kae Me Br3” exhibition at Southern Connecticut State University, as a part of SCSU’s “1619: A Week of Commemoration” series. Most recently, Holloway was named a 2020 New Haven Arts Award recipient.
Small Deeds. Glastonbury, CT.
The ultimate goal of Small Deeds is to make strides by taking baby steps. What we choose to create and consume leaves a big impact on the world around us. By embracing imperfections in existing materials (and herself), Jessica Battista adds her own personal touch, and provides an opportunity for conscious consumers to shop just a smidge gentler.
Susan Ellwanger Pottery. New Haven, CT
Tierra Soap Co. New Haven, CT.
Inspired by nature and every creature ever made, we set out to reimagine our relationship with our skin and the planet. We wanted every Botanical ingredient to be placed in our soaps with our very hands.
Wendy Lewis. Madison, CT.
Wendy began making jewelry over 4 decades ago. Today, sitting down at her jeweler’s bench remains one of the great pleasures of her life- as natural an act as breathing.
Whole Circle Studio. Woodbrige, CT.
I’m Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill, founder of Whole Circle Studio. After working as a practicing graphic designer for over 20 years, I taught myself how to sew and discovered a passion for designing and making modern quilts.
